The Cherry Blossom festival held every year in Washington DC toward the last week in March, first week in April. It’s a week long celebration of the Japanese gift of 3,020 cherry trees in 1912 and that spring has arrived. Weather has been cloudy the past couple of days, but there has been some time to enjoy the Tidal Basin where a majority of the cherry trees are in bloom.

The Gypsy Sons played a set before Vahalla 10 in Sterling Virgina on March 28th. As the crowd started to file in, the band started to attract quite an audience.

Mike Burns and I photographed Vahalla 10 Collision held on March 28th at the Dulles Sports Plex. It was a full of great fights and good times had by all.

Operation Octagon at Hoop Magic in Chantilly VA on March 14th was a jam packed 17 bout, three title fight night. There was a packed house that showcased some of the best MMA fighters in the DC metro area. Every fight was filled with action for the entire fight including several tap outs and knock outs.

Mike Burns and I had the change to photo Trigger Pull’s concert at Champion Billiards in Arlington VA on March 7th 2009. The band had a great concert, and a sweet following that jammed with the band as they played on through the night.

Mike Burns and I photographed Cheap Date’s concert at Ri Ra Bethesda MD Saturday night February 28th. As the snow and temperature began to fall, Cheap Date kicked it up a notch and had the house rocking with their 44 cover songs played throughout the night.

Sam Gunderson and Cactus Grove played a great concert at Mahalo Cove in Sterling Virginia on Saturday night February 21st. The house was packed, the drinks were flowing and there was great music all night long.
When Sam isn’t headlining his own band, he plays guitar and vocals for Taylor Hicks (American Idol winner)

I had the honor with assisting Tammy Shea in photographing Kathie and Kevin Bartz wedding and reception in beautiful Mechanicsville Maryland. With the wedding on Valentine’s day, red was the color of the day.
